Acting CEO appointed at Priceline as Paul J. Hennessy resigns

Online travel agency Priceline has announced Brett Keller will become acting chief executive following the departure of Paul J. Hennessy.

Priceline said Hennessy is leaving ‘to pursue an e-commerce opportunity outside of the travel space.’

Keller most recently served as chief operating officer and reports to Jeffery H. Boyd, himself interim CEO of the Priceline Group, which includes major brands Booking.com, Priceline.com and Kayak.

"We could not be more fortunate to have Brett, a 17-year veteran of the business, step into the role of interim CEO.  I am confident that his expertise and his passion for the brand will ensure a seamless transition upon Paul’s departure, and I look forward to working with Brett as we continue to pursue this iconic brand’s evolution," Boyd said.

"We thank Paul for his dedication to the Group over the last 16 years."

This follows the recent resignation of group CEO Darren Huston after a company investigation into Huston’s personal relationship with a work colleague.

Boyd, who is also chairman, is at the helm until a permanent replacement for group CEO is appointed.
