Advantage to merge conferences
Advantage Travel Centres business director Norman Gage has said it is “highly likely” the group will merge its leisure and business conferences next year.
A decision on the issue, due to be made last Friday, was postponed following the London bombings but Gage confirmed the merger was almost certain to take place.
“Business agents can see the sense behind it,” Gage told TravelMole.
A single conference in May 2006, with Palma and Barcelona among the front runners, would possibly see dedicated sessions set aside for business and leisure members.
Gage stressed however there was much common ground that was relevant to both sectors.
The merger would enable Advantage to pool its resources and attract high-profile speakers.
