Agents have played a major part in Hurtigruten’s bumper boost in September revenues, according to the cruise operator.
The company reports a 25% rise in revenue year on year for September, saying demand was high for both the winter 2010 Northern Lights product and 2011 forward sales following its brochure launch.
It added that agents had played a significant part in selling its cruises, particularly during September’s National Cruise Week.
UK sales manager Maxine Dunsdon said: “In the current climate being 25% up in revenue terms is really encouraging especially on the back of earlier record sales of our Northern Lights programme.
“Norway is enjoying a higher profile than normal at the moment with the 71 Degrees North TV show and this is clearly also encouraging bookings.”
