Air Astana launching Maldives flights
Kazakhstan carrier Air Astana will launch new flights to Male in the Maldives starting early next month.
Starting 5 December, it will fly to Male twice a week from its Almaty hub on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
This will increase to thrice-weekly from 21 December.
The airline will deploy its A321LR aircraft on the route which has 150 seats in the main economy cabin and 16 lie-flat business seats.
Passengers are required to have a negative Covid-19 PCR test result valid for 96 hours from the time of the test until the scheduled flight arrival time.
The airline is expecting high demand for the holiday period and from 16 December 2020 to 16 January 2021 it will deploy a wide-body Boeing 767 aircraft to add seat capacity.
Fares start from US$677 in economy class and from US$2067 in business class, including taxes and surcharges.
Tourism-reliant Maldives reopened its borders in the summer.
