Air Canada inks codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways
Air Canada and Qatar Airways have finalized arrangements for a codeshare agreement connecting Doha and Toronto.
Sales are live ahead of the first codeshare flight on 15 December 2020.
Qatar passengers will now be able to enjoy more seamless one-stop connections to and from Toronto via Hamad International Airport.
Qatar Airways’ hub connects passengers to Toronto from more than 75 destinations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Qatar Air has been operating throughout the pandemic temporarily operating three services a week to Toronto, as well as charter flights to Vancouver.
It says it has helped 40,000 travelers get home to Canada.
The airline began flying to Canada in June 2011.
"The agreement will increase choices for thousands of passengers and allows for smooth connectivity to a significant number of new destinations – particularly throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East," said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker.
Qatar Airways hopes to rebuild its network to 11 destinations in the Americas by the end of the winter season.
