Air marshals double as drug smugglers
Two men facing accusations of drug smuggling have somewhat unusual occupations: they are air marshals.
The two Houston residents were arrested after authorities said they used their positions to smuggle narcotics through airport security and onto planes.
The two men, identified as Shawn Ray Nguyen and Burlie L. Sholar III, were arrested after a tip from an informant.
The men allegedly smuggled 33 pounds of cocaine worth $67,500 on an airplane bound for Las Vegas.
The pair faces a decade in prison and fines of up to $4 million if convicted.
