Air rage suspect begs police not to arrest her

A woman has been arrested over a suspected air-rage incident on a flight bound for Southend late on Saturday night.

According to reports, she ‘flew into a rage’ at around midnight on Saturday, 45 minutes before the easyJet fight was due to land on its return from Malaga.

Witnesses described seeing one cabin crew member being punched and other one being kicked  into the aircraft door.

Video footage shown to the Sun newspaper reveals a woman shouting at a man, believed to be her husband. The woman then runs down the aisle ‘screaming and swearing’, according to fellow passengers.

She was eventually held down by three crew members and the aircraft landed 20 minutes early.

The video then pans to a policeman arriving on the plane and making an arrest.

She is heard begging with the officer: "Please don’t arrest me, this is going to kill my career."

Essex Police said: "We were contacted at just after midnight on Sunday September 1 following reports that a passenger on an in-flight bound to Southend Airport had assaulted cabin crew staff.

"Officers attended and arrested a 49-year-old woman on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

"She has been questioned and released on bail until September 27."

EasyJet told the Sun that safety was its ‘priority’.
