Airlines ramp up services to the Bahamas this winter
Airlift to The Bahamas is set to expand significantly for the 2025–2026 winter season, with a wave of new routes and increased frequencies designed to meet growing demand for both Nassau and the Out Islands.
On November 23, 2025, Bahamasair already launched a new nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and North Eleuthera, strengthening access to one of the country’s most sought-after Out Island destinations. Tradewind Aviation further bolstered connectivity from South Florida. On December 11, the company introduced scheduled charter flights from Fort Lauderdale to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera. They will operate through April 2026.
U.S. carriers are also scaling up service ahead of the peak holiday travel period. Frontier Airlines is resuming weekly nonstop flights to Nassau from Atlanta starting December 18, while JetBlue is adding a daily Boston–Nassau service on the same date, timed for the busy year-end travel season. American Airlines is increasing its presence in the Out Islands, adding more flights from Miami, including up to three daily services to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera between December 18, 2025, and January 5, 2026.
Delta Air Lines will expand its Nassau network beginning December 20, 2025, with new nonstop flights from New York, Atlanta, and Miami. Travelers from the Midwest will benefit from a daily Detroit–Nassau service through April 12, 2026, while Minneapolis will gain a new winter-only Saturday nonstop flight.
Canada also sees a substantial boost in air service this winter, with 45 weekly flights linking Canadian cities to The Bahamas. Porter Airlines is opening new routes from Toronto, Ottawa, and Hamilton, all serving Nassau, while Air Canada introduced nonstop flights from Ottawa and Halifax to Nassau in December 5, 2025, through April 10, 2026.
Together, these additions mark one of the most robust seasonal airlift expansions in recent years, reinforcing The Bahamas’ position as a leading winter sun destination for North American travelers.
