Airlines cancel flights ahead of typhoon
Airlines have made flight network revisions for the next few days as Typhoon Ragasa bears down on northeast Asia.
China Airlines announced adjustments to its schedules as well as for Mandarin Airlines international flights.
Flights to and from Taoyuan Airport in Taiwan until 17:30 have been cancelled.
All round-trip flights from Taoyuan and Kaohsiung to Hong Kong for September 24 have also been cancelled.
CAL says departure and arrival times for other flights may also be affected.
It is urging passengers to check the flight status on the CAL website or official app.
Customers can also register for SMS notifications to receive the latest updates.
Cathey Pacific also announced flight changes and cancellations while Emirates flights are also affected.
Its path will be just south of Hong Kong and Macau after passing through the Philippines.
There are warnings of widespread flooding, landslides, and major property damage.
Hing Kong Airport will remain open but flights in and out with be significantly restricted after 6pm local time on Tuesday.
The typhoon is also expected to hit nearby areas of Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Zhongshan and Zhuhai in mainland China.
