Alamo to accelerate trade sales
Alamo Rent A Car is to further woo the trade by creating a new role of UK sales manager.
Alex Wilson joins the car hire company in the newly created position designed to support the existing sales structure but also help strengthen Alamo’s operator and agency accounts, according to the company.
“Alex will have a portfolio of his own accounts to manage and will play an instrumental role in providing vital support and training to existing accounts,” Alamo said.
He was formerly with MGA International as sales and marketing manager responsible for key accounts, including Cendant Hotel Group and El Monte RV Motorhomes for leisure sales from Europe into North America, covering brands such as Ramada and Travelodge.
Alamo sales and marketing vice-president Nick Harwood said: “Alex has the ideal level of expertise and knowledge to drive our accounts forward and through regular meetings and training will ensure that they are maximising their revenue opportunities when booking car hire for their customers.
“This investment in sales and travel industry expertise is a reflection of Alamo’s commitment to the UK market as a central part of our business development strategy. It is also an illustration of our focus on supporting tour operators and travel agents to help them promote Alamo to their customers.”
