Alternative Airlines adds 40 low cost carriers

Forty low cost carriers have been added to online booking engine Alternative Airlines.

The latest additions to the website extends the offers available to more than 300 airlines, including many local and regional carriers that do not have easy to book, online booking facilities.

The new additions include Gol of Brazil, Iceland Express, Czech carrier SmartWings and SpiceJet based in New Delhi.

A company spokesman said: “By adding low cost airlines to our availability search, we can now offer our customers even more choice of airlines.

“Passengers often want to book the cheapest possible fare, regardless of whether in-flight meals are provided or whether they can get seats allocated at check-in, but traditional travel agency systems show flight availability only for full service carriers.

“In a world where the importance of low cost airlines is growing rapidly, this isn’t good enough.

“Alternative Airlines is all about offering more choice of airlines and it was vital to bridge this technology gap.”
