American Airlines extends main cabin booze ban
American Airlines says it won’t serve alcohol in the main cabin again until early 2022. Its booze ban in economy class will continue until January 18, 2022, which is when the federal mask mandate on transportation is set to expire.
Unruly behavior on planes has skyrocketed this year and much of it has stemmed from a refusal to wear a mask. Alcohol has been a contributing factor in many incidents.
American says it wants to ‘do all we can to help create a safe environment for our crew and customers.’
