Asia flocks to Melbourne show

Asia is putting on a show this week at the 15th Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Asia is the second largest region represented after Australia at AIME 2007 with more than 28 percent of exhibitors.
With 120 new exhibitors registering for AIME 2007, the exhibition has attracted a record number of 850 exhibitors from 50 countries.
Paul Kennedy, group exhibition director of Reed Travel Exhibitions, said Reed was fully committed to AIME and would not think of starting a rival show in South East Asia.
Reed organises 15 events worldwide including its stable of international business travel marts in Europe, China and – from next month – the Arabian Gulf.
“China can support an event no question, but we’re very happy to continue and grow our partnership with Melbourne,” said Kennedy.
“The great diversity of the Asia Pacific region is extraordinary and that will keep bringing people back to AIME,” Kennedy added.
