SYDNEY – Last minute, low-cost fly cruise packages are available for Australians to sail aboard the traditional ocean liner, Athena, from Greece to Australia in November.
Classic International Cruises has partnered with various travel companies to offer the deals. One company, Talpacific, has a 35-night package available from A$5989 per person, twin-share, in an ocean-view cabin.
The offer includes:
Flight with Singapore Airlines from mainland state capital cities in Australia to Athens; one night in Athens and the 34-night voyage aboard Athena from Athens on November 14, 2009, to Fremantle via Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore
The package is available via any travel agent until October 15.
The voyage from Athens to Fremantle includes a visit to Gallipoli, where Athena will become the first Australia-based ship to dock near the iconic World War 1 battlefield. Shore tours to Anzac Cove will be available.
Athena’s line voyage from Athens to Fremantle will be the first of the ship’s 16 cruises to and from Fremantle and Adelaide this summer.
