Avro steps in to aid stranded holidaymakers
Charter flight only operator Avro is offering hundreds of one-way seats to Mediterranean destinations from £35 to British Airways passengers stranded by industry action at Heathrow.
The seats are available from today until the end of next week for those who have had their outbound flights disrupted but who will still be able to use their return flight.
Hundreds of seats are available from UK airports including Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Birmingham, East Midlands, Bristol and Manchester.
Destinations include Majorca from Stansted tomorrow, Venice and the Algarve on Sunday, Bodrum in Turkey on Monday and Crete on Tuesday. Also available are the mainland Spanish resorts of Malaga and Alicante plus Kos and Rhodes.
Managing director Michael Vinales said: “Agents will no doubt be experiencing a busy period with the disruption that this strike has caused.
“Many stranded holidaymakers will be receiving refunds for their cancelled flights and agents will be in a good position to switch-sell customers to charter operators like ourselves and earn good commission in the bargain.
“In addition to these one-way seats we still have capacity for many routes until the end of the summer school holidays and many priced considerably lower than the scheduled carriers.”
