BA flight issues emergency before landing
A British Airways flight bound for Glasgow issued a ‘Squawk 7700’ emergency alert, requesting a priority landing.
The protocol informs air traffic control of an in-flight incident. However, British Airways later said the incident was not deemed as an emergency situation but caused by a minor technical issue.
The plane was seen circling the air for some time before landing safely and Glasgow Airport emergency services were on standby as a precaution.
A second British Airways flight issued a ‘Squawk 7700’this week and returned to Heathrow Airport due to a technical issue.
