BA shares lead the way

There were several sparkling performances among travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity indices registered modest gains.

The FTSE 100 index added 14.3 points to end the day at 4898.5, while the broader-based FTSE 250 put on 25.2 points and ended the day at 6830.7.

Airlines did well with British Airways leading the way, putting on 7.75p to close at 268.75p on recent drops in the price of oil.
