Bales ramp up online bookings
Bales Worldwide is upgrading its website enabling customers to book complex tailor-made itineraries online.
The move, expected to be launched in late summer, follows a similar development by its long haul rival Kuoni.
Currently, only off-the-peg, pre-packaged holidays from its Escorted Journeys programme are bookable online.
Bales sales and marketing director Iain Fenton described the website upgrade as a “significant advance” for the company.
“Historically we have only been able to offer Escorted Journeys online. Customers looking to personalise their own itineraries have had to contact us for expert advice,” he said. “Of course we will continue to provide that service but our improved website will give travellers significantly greater flexibility in booking their own tailor made holiday arrangements.”
The system will also include third party supplier holiday components which the operator said would give it a wider range of net fares.
“The new technology represents a substantial investment in bringing our online presence to a higher level,” added Fenton.
