Bank holiday strike at Gatwick averted
A proposed strike by refuellers at London Gatwick over this May bank holiday weekend has been called off.
Gatwick Refuelling Services Ltd reached an agreement with the Transport and General Workers Union offering voluntary union recognition.
T&G regional industrial organiser Kevin Hall said the agreement enables the T&G to begin wage talks at the company.
“The agreement represents an important victory for refuellers at Gatwick airport,” he said.
“It follows detailed talks through conciliation service ACAS, and we now hope to build a meaningful industrial relationship with GRS as we pursue our talks on pay.”
