On the occasion of its 21st anniversary hospitality group Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has unveiled a fourth hotel brand.

Beginning next year, Dhawa joins Cassia, Angsana and Banyan Tree in the company’s brand portfolio and brings a modern tech forward concept targeting ‘design-savvy travellers’ the company says.

The first Dhawa will launch on Hainan Island in China, in March 2016, followed by the opening of the 516-key Dhawa Cayo Las Brujas, Cuba in July 2016.

Dhawa rooms are known as ‘cocoons’ and feature modern design while bathrooms, or ‘Pods’ are equipped with therapeutic rain showers, LED mood lighting and spa-branded bathroom amenities.

Each property also features signature all-day restaurant and bar ‘Nook’ a spa, fitness centre and Kids Club.

Further openings are planned for Pu’er, Leishan and Luo Yang in China, and Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand.

With the addition of the Dhawa brand, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is targeting a combined portfolio of 66 hotels and resorts, 117 spas and 115 galleries in 33 countries by 2019.
