Bay Area bike sharing customers can earn Alaska Air miles
Customers using the Bay Area’s Ford GoBike bike sharing service can now claim frequent flyer miles every time they take a ride on two wheels.
Ford GoBike has teamed up with Alaska Airlines offering 10 Alaska Mileage Plan miles for every ride.
FordGoBike has bike stations across San Francisco, Oakland and recently San Jose, allowing riders to pick up a bicycle and drop it off at a bike station nearest to their intended destination.
"We’re thrilled to offer the first-ever member rewards program for Ford GoBike that will help travelers take advantage of the beautiful Bay Area," said Diana Birkett Rakow, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of external relations.
To claim miles, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members need to link their accounts to the Ford GoBike app.
As part of the partnership Alaska Airlines is marketing sponsor of all Ford GoBike stations in San Jose and 250 stations in all across the Bay Area.
