Bermuda shudders as massive storm approaches
Anyone heading to Bermuda should be aware that a hurricane is bearing down on the region, with weather experts predicting that it could be the most severe to hit the British territory in 15 years.
Hurricane Fabian is reportedly heading for the island and is expected to reach Bermuda some time on Friday evening; the storm is already producing winds of 120 miles per hour and forecasters say it is gaining in strength.
One Bermuda-based weather website, at www.hurricane.bm, warns: “Fabian approaches from the south and is expected to be an almost direct hit late Friday. Winds will steadily increase to hurricane force by Friday afternoon. Thunderstorms embedded in rain bands from Fabian will sweep through our area from tonight into Saturday.”
