Betton to leave ABTA
ABTA’s head of corporate affairs Keith Betton is to stand down later this year after 20 years with the trade body.
Betton said he had given plenty of notice so his successor can be found in good time for a proper hand-over and they can meet delegates at the ABTA Convention in Athens in November.
He is to set up his own public relations company.
Betton said: “Will will announce more about my plans in due course, but essentially I will be working primarily on my own projects with a small number of clients.”
Explaining his decision to move on, he said: “I have often said that one day I would like to run my own business but leaving ABTA has always been too difficult to face because it is so central to everything we do in this industry. However, after 20 years I have decided to embark on that new journey and once we have completed the convention in November I will start my own public relations business.”
