Biman adopts SITA Connect
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has teamed up with aviation tech firm SITA to adopt a suite of connectivity solutions.
The partnership will help increase network speeds, optimise the airline’s operations, and reduce its expansion costs.
The collaboration introduces SITA Connect Go to Biman, which is a new Secure SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) solution specifically for aviation.
Developed in partnership with Versa Networks, it allows multiple airlines, ground handlers, and other tenants to undergo digital transformation at their own speed.
It gives secure access to virtualised applications and infrastructure at airports and in the cloud
This results in more scalable performance.
It will improve the airline’s performance by giving the IT operations team full visibility into their network usage.
The adoption of SITA Connect gives the airline an impressive bandwidth increase of up to 600%.
It comes as SITA and Biman celebrate 50 years of partnership.
Sumesh Patel, President, Asia Pacific, SITA, said: “Connectivity is the backbone of our industry, and smart, efficient, and agile technology operations will be the defining factor.”
