Blue Mountains Tourism gets boost
The Australian Tourism Development Project (ATDP) will provide a much-needed boost at a crucial time for the Blue Mountains tourism industry with news that an application for a $500,000 Federal Government grant to develop the Greater Blue Mountains Tourist Drive has been successful.
Member for Macquarie Kerry Bartlett said “The Mountains are very dependent on tourism and it is a major source of local jobs,”
“We can always do more to promote our local area.”
The ATDP grant is awarded to a regional tourism project that clearly demonstrates potential benefits to the region, adjoining regions and the State through the delivery of a quality Australian experience for both domestic and international visitors.
Regional tourism bodies in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Southern Highlands and the Hunter will work closely with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, local councils and the Roads and Traffic Authority to create the Greater Blue Mountains Tourist Drive.
