Bmi codeshares with US Airways

Bmi is to codeshare with US Airways on links to Scotland from the UK carrier’s transatlantic gateway at Manchester.

US Airways flight codes will be added on bmi flights from Manchester to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Bmi runs an expanding transatlantic network to the US from Manchester and is adding Caribbean services next month.

The codeshare arrangement between the two Star Alliance partner carriers enables US Airways to augment a seasonal Philadelphia-Glasgow service, according to Bruce Ashby, the airline’s alliances senior vice-president.

He said: “Expanding our relationship with bmi is one of the many benefits associated with our membership in the Star Alliance, and gives us greater international breadth.”
