British Mum killed in hot air balloon crash
An investigation is underway after a British tourist was killed in a hot air balloon crash in South Africa.
The 48-year-old, who was on holiday with her husband and sons, died from serious head injuries.
She was on a tour with Bill Harrop’s Original Balloon Safaris, a family run business which has been operating as a legally licensed balloon Air Transport Service since 1981.
The incident happened as the balloon came into land at Buffelspoort Dam, near Hartbeespoort in the North West Province.
Harrop told news24 he believed the wind was to blame, but a full investigation will take place.
Another girl, aged 4, and her mother were also injured and are being treated in hospital.
