Business travelers returning to major airlines
A trend in business travel: more of them are using the major network carriers than low-cost airlines.
So says an Accenture survey of 533 business travelers.
“The new data may be an early indicator that major carrier pricing reform enacted in January and February may begin to achieve a stated goal: regaining market share from such rapidly expanding competitors as AirTran, JetBlue and Southwest Airlines,” said BusinessTravelNews.
Almost 82% of those polled said they now primarily use network carriers, up from 72% the year before.
The survey also found more business travelers expected to increase use of luxury hotel properties and mid-range brands.
One third of those surveyed said business travel would increase in the next six months. More than half, or 53%, said their level of business travel would roughly remain the same in the near future.
