Offering satellite or cable TV has grown so much in the past decade that it’s an amenity in virtually every hotel, says the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

In its recent 2006 survey, considered the most comprehensive of its kind, also found these trends:

Ø       Voice mail also continues to be a common amenity, with 86%of hotels offering it. All luxury hotels have it.

Ø       While half of hotels offered high-speed internet in 2004, it is now found in almost 90% of facilities.

Ø       The fastest growing in-room amenity: wireless internet access.

Ø       Upgraded bedding was surveyed for the first time this year, with more than two-thirds of hotels indicating they had upgraded.

Ø       Branded bathroom amenity products are popular for all hotels, at least in the past year.
