Carnival cruise ship catches fire
A Carnival Cruise Line ship caught fire while docked at Grand Turk. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is under investigation.
Carnival Freedom’s ‘whale tail’ funnel caught fire with images showing flames and thick black smoke. Video showed fire crews dousing the fire.
The cruise line said the blaze was extinguished quickly and all guests and crew were safe.
“Carnival Freedom’s emergency response team quickly activated and extinguished the fire. The ship’s guests were cleared by local authorities to go ashore,” it said.
