Carrier offers pre-bookable seats through GDS
Agents will be able to pre-book seats on low cost carrier Flybe through Galileo and Sabre GDS systems – but most customers will have to pay.
Passengers who choose to pre-book their seats will be charged £16 per sector for emergency and bulk head seats and £8 per sector for all other seats. The charges will be taken by the agent at the time of booking and will be commissionable.
Economy Plus passengers can pre-book free of charge.
Flybe sales and marketing director Mike Rutter said: “This is another example of our ongoing commitment to provide first class, low fares for travellers across the UK.”
Observers, however, questioned whether passengers seeking a low cost flight would be willing to fork out an additional £16 for a return flight simply to pre-book a seat.
