Cebu Pacific announces resumption of Boracay flight schedule
Budget carrier Cebu Pacific will be the first airline to resume flights to Boracay after the six-month closure for rehabilitation.
The island reopens next month and Cebu Pacific will be first to restart flights to Boracay’s gateway Caticlan.
After a transitional schedule on October 26 and 27, Cebu Pacific and subsidiary Cebgo will serve Caticlan up to seven times a day from Manila, twice daily from Cebu and once from Clark Airport.
Cebu Pacific will also fly to the alternative gateway of Kalibo from Manila and Incheon, South Korea.
The island welcomed about two million visitors in 2017.
When the island reopens many changes are kicking in, including the end to open air beach parties.
The next big change will see all public areas on the island designated smoke free and no drinking will be allowed.
This includes the famous White Beach, said tourism secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
Tourists may continue to smoke and drink in tourist establishments and resorts, she said.
