Barrhead Travel is bringing five-star cruise liner, Celebrity Reflection, to Greenock port next May so UK passengers can join its cruise to Iceland and Ireland.

It will be the first time UK holidaymakers have been able to board a Celebrity cruise at the west of Scotland port.

Greenock will be the first port of call for the cruise, which begins in Dublin. It will visit Reykjavik, Akureyri, Shetland Islands, Cork and end in Dublin, from where Barrhead Travel customers will fly home.

Barrhead cruise director Catriona Parsons said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing Celebrity Reflection to Greenock next May.

"Offering our customers choice when it comes to cruise is hugely important for our business and we understand the difference it can make to holiday plans when you have the option to explore incredible destinations right from your doorstep.

"Greenock is a choice port for many major incoming cruise-lines thanks to the diverse range of landscapes and things to do in close proximity. We are delighted that Celebrity Cruises has also recognised it as a key embarkation point and we are certain that our customers across Scotland and the wider UK will be as excited as we are to welcome another UK cruise departure offering a unique itinerary."

Celebrity Cruises’ strategic account manager for Scotland, Andrew Boulton added: "Sailings on Celebrity Reflection in 2019 are proving exceptionally popular and we are thrilled to work alongside Barrhead Travel to ensure our guests in Scotland can embark their cruise a little closer to home.

"We look forward to showcasing the real grass lawn, award-winning restaurants and bars, and luxury accommodation of Celebrity Reflection to Scottish cruisers."
