Chinese tourist arrivals to Taiwan plunge
Chinese tourist arrivals to Taiwan fell sharply in October, representing the biggest fall in more than a decade.
Earlier this summer China banned individual travel to Taiwan, although group tours are still permitted.
According to data from the Tourism Bureau the number of Mainland Chinese travellers sank by 52.5% compared to October 2018.
This follows a hefty fall in September too.
Overall tourist numbers were down 2%, the Tourism Bureau said.
Tourism growth slowed to 9% for the first 10 months of the year.
So far this year Taiwan has welcomed 9.73 million arrivals.
