Coming attraction: star wars of travel

Sunday, 26 Jul, 2005 0

Priceline has been using Star Trek’s William Shattner and now SideStep is hiring Patrick Stewart to promote their product.

While Mr Shattner starred in the original “Star Trek” program, Mr Stewart played Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

Who is winning this war between the two rivals?

The advantage so far goes to Priceline because they are also using “Star Trek” star Leonard Nimoy.

And Priceline has been at it longer  –  since 1998.

“It takes a long time to build a brand,” said Brian Ek, Priceline’s vice president of communications.”
