Colorado’s historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is bringing a special fall Old West experience.

The Cowboy Poetry Train rides the rails round trip from Durango to Silverton on Friday October 3.

It showcases an intimate performance of western poets, storytelling and acoustic entertainment, as the train travels through epic landscapes.

During the journey to Silverton, there will be poems and songs to bring a tears to the eyes, laugh out loud and feel inspired by the rich traditions of the Old West.

Hear about the cowboy way of life, told in the rhythmic stories passed down the generations in classic folk melodies and ballads.

This special Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge steam train excursion to Silverton features the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering entertainers who will perform onboard in designated coaches during the outbound excursion from Durango to Silverton only.

All trains have a concession car with a variety of light snacks.

The rail excursion is suitable for all ages.

It departs Durango 8:15 am and returns at 5:30 pm with a two- hour turnaround in Silverton, offering time to explore the town at leisure.

For those who wish to spend longer in Silverton, there is a bus back option available.
