Creative Holidays buys www.ineedaholiday.com.au

Thursday, 24 Apr, 2007 0

Creative Holidays has announced that it has acquired Melbourne based direct consumer website www.ineedaholiday.com.au  from Sydney based loyalty program specialist the Leapfrog Group.

With neither Justin Montgomery MD of Creative Holidays or Brian Smillie MD of Leapfrog available for comment this morning, analysts say that that the move could potentially be a first step by Creative towards direct sell, although in other media today Montgomery has denied that is the case, with all Travel Corporation companies continually stressing their commitment to the trade and that they will not take direct consumer bookings.

It is reported that the rationale behind the deal is so that Creative can supply product to Leapfrog, but analysts also speculate why it was necessary to buy www.ineedaholiday.com.au to do that as that could be achieved through normal channels, unless exclusivity was the objective.

It is believed that several www.ineedaholiday.com.au staff left prior to the sale, some made redundant, with the remainder, including it is believed MD Peter Topping, moving into Travel Corporation’s AAT Kings Melbourne offices.
