Cruise accident cause: human error
Human error caused the Crown Princess to suddenly tilt at sea, injuring 240 passengers and crew, according to Princess Cruises.
Cruise line officials did not elaborate but said an employee responsible for navigating the ship had been fired. It will be a year or so before the National Transportation Safety Board and the US Coast Guard complete a joint probe into the July 18 incident.
And the impact of the incident?
Short-term repercussions for the industry, said Wall Street analysts quoted by USA Today.
Princess Cruises refunded passengers’ money and helped them get home, which helped in damage control, according to experts.
