Cruiser killed in shark attack in the Bahamas
An American cruise guest died snorkelling in the Bahamas, after a shark attack.
The 58-year-old woman from Pennsylvania was attacked near Green Cay on New Providence.
Police said she was attacked by a bull shark in front of her family.
The family was on a cruise trip on Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas.
She was taken to hospital but was declared dead.
Royal Caribbean International said they had independently booked the excursion.
Shark attacks on humans are generally rare.
There were 73 confirmed sharks worldwide last year, which is above the annual average.
