Delta flies plane crammed with lost luggage and no passengers from Heathrow
Faced with a flight cap on the number of passengers departing beleaguered Heathrow Airport, a Delta Air Lines plane took off anyway.
However, it departed in Detroit with zero passengers but filled with 1,000 lost bags.
A baggage handling staffing shortage has caused chaos for travellers with a baggage mountain forming of items not making it onto flights in time.
Delta said it took the ‘creative solution’ to help solve the problem. “We will then forward the bags on to our customers,” the airline said.
