Delta offering baggage claim guarantee
Delta Air Lines is so confident of getting checked-in bags on the carousel on time it is offering a guarantee to SkyMiles loyalty members.
The airline promises to have bags available for collection within 20 minutes for domestic flights.
If it fails to do so, frequent flier account will be credited with 2,500 bonus miles.
The guarantee is only available to registered loyalty members and claims must be made within three days.
Oversize, overweight baggage and special items are not included in the promotion which runs until March 31.
Delta spokesman Anthony Black called the service ‘a test’ and gave no guarantees that it will be extended permanently.
The move follows a similar permanent guarantee at rivals Alaska Airlines which offers the same amount of mileage points or a $25 credit for a future flight for delayed bags.
