Disabled passenger dies after exiting plane
An easyJet passenger died just after arriving at Gatwick Airport off a flight. The passenger, who had reduced mobility, passed away despite cabin crew providing initial medical assistance.
A Gatwick Airport spokesperson said a formal investigation has been opened as an ‘incident occurred ‘which is a factor in the ‘sad and tragic ‘death.
It happened as ground staff were helping to disembark three passengers with restricted mobility one-by-one from the plane. Staff shortages were not a factor in the incident, the spokesperson claims.
The man who required special assistance, reportedly made his own way into the terminal and fell down an escalator.
