Dynamic packaging still “the buzz”
Travel Technology Show 2005: Dynamic packaging continues to be the buzzword at this year’s Travel Technology Show.
The Vertical Group is among the technology companies making further advancements to the dynamic packaging capabilities of its products.
The company has enabled charter and no-frills airline bookings to its online booking tools for tour operators, boosted accommodation inventory and enabled operators to add their own stock for dynamic packaging.
Developments to its TARSC agency management system also focus on dynamic packaging, and the improved management of dynamically packaged and online bookings.
Vertical Group managing director Peter Healy said: “All these developments are designed to help companies grow their business by enabling them to enter new areas of sales at a cost that gives them a fast return on the investment.”
TravelOptions has also chosen the Travel Technology Show to showcase its second generation operator system. It enables users to search and book content within a single Windows-style interface. This includes packaging together flights with hotels from suppliers such as Barceló and Miki Travel.
The second generation version of TravelOptions also allows users to search more flight options than before from charter, schedule and no-frills airlines including Ryanair and easyJet.
TravelOptions managing director, Michael Johnson, said: “Dynamic packaging is the phrase on everyone’s lips at this year’s Travel Technology Show, but it’s crucial companies consider fully the practical impact that selling separate components will have on their business.
“Operators and agents can end up facing a wall of administration, spending time using links to different systems to source components at the best prices and then going back to those suppliers systems to confirm bookings. Our solution addresses these issues by bringing the entire dynamic packaging process into one space.”
