EasyJet keen on Heathrow flights
EasyJet confirmed it is weighing up the possibility of flying from London Heathrow as the airport laid out proposals for its planned third runway.
If granted and built, the leisure airline could start flying there.
The airline added its support to Heathrow’s proposal.
“Expansion at Heathrow will provide consumer and economic benefits and represents a unique opportunity for easyJet to operate from the airport at scale for the first time,” easyJet CEO Kenton Jarvis said in Heathrow’s statement on its runway proposal.
The £21 billion runway project could be operational within a decade.
It would include an expanded terminal 2 and a new separate terminal building allowing the airport to handle up to 150 million passengers a year.
