Etihad poaches United vice president
Etihad Airways has appointed United Airlines’ vice president James Mueller to the new position of senior vice president sales.
Mueller, an American, has spent five years working at United Airlines in various senior roles, including VP Asia Pacific and VP Atlantic and Pacific Sales.
He previously worked for Northwest/Delta Airlines for more than 15 years, where his last position was as VP cargo sales.
Mueller’s appointment follows the recent creation of the Etihad Aviation Group, a new structure headed by James Hogan as group president and CEO. It includes the core airline and a separate division to coordinate and manage Etihad’s subsidiaries, joint venture companies and equity partners.
