Even smoother sailing ahead for Tauck?
Small-ship sea and river cruises will be key growth areas in the future for Tauck World Discovery. Said company president Robin Tauck:
“We’re increasing our Tauck At Sea portfolio by more than 50% in 2005. In river cruising alone, we’re increasing our published departure dates more than five-fold.”
After what he termed a very strong year, the company is adding well over a dozen trips for the coming year with a combination of new tours, cruises and events in the US, Canada. South America, Central America and the Mediterranean.
The new journeys reflect an aggressive emphasis on new small-ship and river cruises, he added.
Tauck is also emphasizing “insider” special-event trips, and expanded options in established Tauck destinations.
New river cruises include an April “Amsterdam To Brussels At Tulip Time” itinerary aboard the MS Switzerland II in April 2005. Prices start at $2,560.
The company announced a new 12-day “The Blue Danube” journey aboard the MS Switzerland II that features ‘insider’ visits to key sites in Prague and Budapest in May, June, July, August and October 2005. Prices start at $3,390.
Tauck is also dramatically increasing volume on their “Amsterdam to Budapest by Riverboat” journey that debuted this year, boosting the number of published departure dates by 150% for 2005. They run from May to October, priced from $3,990.
Tauck continues to expand its offerings of special “insider” event-based trips, including the “Celebration Of Roses” Rose Parade event. That event on 29 December-2 January, 2005, starts at prices of $2,190, according to the company.
The company is also expanding its offerings in established destinations with expanded tours in the US, Costa Rica and Canada.
