Expedia renews Formula 1 ticketing contract
Expedia Distribution (formerly Expedia Private Label) has renewed a contract to continue running the ticket and travel service at Formula1.com.
The new multi-year deal means that the 20 million users of Formula1.com will continue to be able to purchase tickets and travel packages to all races in the Formula One calendar through Expedia.
The service offers tickets to all races in the Grand Prix calendar and already has most of the 2008 races on sale. Users are able to buy in five different currencies including sterling, euros, dollars, Canadian dollars and Australian dollars.
Expedia Distribution senior vice president David Roche said: “We have worked together to build a highly successful platform for race fans to book all their travel needs.
“We will continue to work closely with the Formula One team to ensure that we offer simple, cost effective ways to book travel to the Grand Prix season throughout 2008 and beyond.
“The continuation of this relationship demonstrates Expedia Distribution’s ambition to expand its partnership opportunities outside of traditional travel brands and is looking to work with heavyweight new partners, further establishing our position as unique providers of travel services.”
