Extraordinary acquires Maupintour and leaves USTOA
Maupintour LLC has been acquired by Extraordinary Vacations Group USA.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Extraordinary is the parent company of Cruise Shoppes and the Travel Magazine television shows.
Jeff Cohen, president of Maupintour, will remain with the company under a new multi-year contract.
Effective Dec. 13, Maupintour no longer is a member of USTOA. The company no longer qualifies for USTOA membership as a result of its recent sale. Under USTOA bylaws, a company must be under the same management and ownership for three consecutive years to qualify for membership.
The company says its Summerlin, Nevada, and Lawrence, Kansas offices will continue to operate without interruption.
Maupintour LLC has a number of product lines, including Maupintour, which designs and markets a variety of escorted tours through its Limited Edition, Classic and Holiday concepts, as well as other tours that include river and canal cruises.
Maupintour Express Vacations arranges customized luxury vacation packages.
