Family Travel Association rolls out certification program
The Family Travel Association has launched FTA Academy, a new certification program for family travel specialists.
It features a course of 23 video modules which the organization says is the first of its kind in the industry.
The training content has been produced by FTA’s director of travel agent initiatives, Sally Black, who also runs family travel specialist agency Vacationkids.
The program has been financially backed by MSC Cruises.
"New agents, or agents new to the lucrative family market, will gain a better appreciation of the challenges of planning memorable travel experiences for families," Black said.
"This training addresses the skills to overcome these unique challenges."
Agents are certificated after successfully completing a 50-question online test.
The program will form the initial phase of a planned Family Travel Resource Center in the future which will offer agent tools and content and media resources.
