Flight attendant suffers broken back during rough landing
A Southwest Airlines flight attendant suffered a fractured back after a hard landing, according to a National Transportation Safety Board incident report.
The crewmember suffered a compression fracture in her upper back during the landing last month at John Wayne Airport in California.
“We reported the matter to the NTSB in accordance with regulatory requirements and conducted an internal review of the event, “the airline said.
The flight attendant was in a jump seat at the back of the plane. The shorter than usual runway length was a factor in the ‘firm landing.’
